భక్తి విస్వాసము లేని భార్య, గుణవంతుడు గాని కుమారుడున్,
సదాభ్యాసము లేని విద్య, పరిహాసము లేని వాచ్య ప్రసంగముల్,
గ్రాసము లేని కొలువు, కొఱగానివి పెమ్మయ సింగ ధీమణీ.

vaasana lEni puvvu = A flower devoid of sweet smell,
budha vargamu lEni puramu = A city devoid of realized, wise men
bhakti visvaasamu lEni bhaarya = A wife devoid of devotion, faith
guNavantudu kaani kumaarudu = A son devoid of good qualities
sadaabhyasamu lEni vidya = A vidya (knowledge in a branch of science or arts etc., ) devoid of continuous practice (for own as well as others benefit!)
parihaasamu lEni vachya prasangamu = A speech (or a piece of literature work) devoid of sense of humor
graasamu lEni koluvu = A job devoid of right remuneration
koragaanivi = Absolutely useless! (they are useless even when possessed — Just like black money in foreign banks!)

    I am looking for one poem that tells, when parents should feel proud that is when a educated people says your kid is outstanding when a whole “puram” is recognized by his good deeds — something like this but I totally lost this poem which ends as pemmaya singahdheemani. If you know please post it.

    Vasana Leni poovu is the a gem and applicable to all life styles. Thanks for showing this. It was in my Telugu Text book 60 years ago. Thought it was from Subhashithalu.

  9. purnachandra Rao Perepu, student of Sri Mudivarthi Kondamacharya a great scholar who is the only person in employment of TTD Hindudharma Parirakshana Samtha at the age of 85 plus and employed. My Namaskarams to his lotus feet. Says:

    CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME THE ADDRESS FROM WHERE i CAN GET THIS WONDERFUL SATHAKAM OF SINGADHEEMANI WHICH IS EXHAUSTIVE AND SUITS EVERY ONE IN THE PRESENT SCENARIO
